From I-10 heading E, take I-10 Exit 11; head South on NM-338 for 24 miles. The Smugglers’ Roost entrance will be on your right at Hatchet Rd (“Boo Blvd”) .

You will see the Smugglers’ Roost sign at the entrance and a large water tank approx. 100 yards West of the entrance road.

Pro Tip: If coming from the West, I-10 Exit 5 offers a cost-effective gas stop at Shady Grove Truck Stop prior to heading into Animas.

From I-10 heading W, take Exit 49 toward NM-146. Turn left onto NM-146, heading S. Continue for 19.2 miles to NM-9. Turn right onto NM-9 W and continue on for 29.7 miles. Turn right onto NM-338 N for 400 ft. 

The Smugglers’ Roost entrance will be on your left at Hatchet Rd (“Boo Blvd”) , just after the School and Smugglers Trail historic marker.

Take I-10 W Exit 8 toward TX-178/Artcraft Rd/Paseo Del Norte. Merge onto Desert Blvd N. Turn left onto TX-178 W/Artcraft Rd. Continue onto NM-136 W. Turn right onto NM-9 W and continue on for 133 miles. Turn right onto NM-338 N.

Keep left to stay on Airway Blvd. Turn left at the 1st cross street onto Airport Rd. Turn right onto Montana Ave. Turn slightly left onto US-180 W/E Paisano Dr (signs for I-10). Turn right onto Gateway Blvd W. Take I-10 W Exit 8 toward TX-178/Artcraft Rd/Paseo Del Norte. Merge onto Desert Blvd N. Turn left onto TX-178 W/Artcraft Rd. Continue onto NM-136 W. Turn right onto NM-9 W and continue on for 133 miles. Turn right onto NM-338 N. Take I-10 E for 135 miles to Exit 11 (NM-338). Head South on NM-338 for 24 miles. The Smugglers’ Roost entrance will be on your right at Hatchet Rd (“Boo Blvd”).
